Last week when I was participating in Tasty Tuesday, there was a link that caught my eye.
Pizza Pinwheels.
If you know anything about my husband and our children, you know that they love pizza in any form.
So as an afterschool surprise snack for the kids, I gave it a try.
Here's the recipe:
2 cans of crescent rolls
1 pkg of pepperoni slices
Large bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
2 egg yolks
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out crescent rolls, but pinch together the diagonal lines to create rectangles. In a food processer or by hand chop the pepperoni up into very small pieces. In a mixing bowl combine the cheese, egg yolks, and pepperoni.
Spread the mixture on the crescent rolls.
Roll them up starting from the short end.
After you roll them up, slice them and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
They were a winner - the kids loved them!
I could not believe that I had all the ingredients on hand, mainly the crescents. I typically do not purchase the can crescents because they can be pricey (for me anyway), but it just so happened that the week before I scored a fabulous deal on them.
I am sure that there are homemade crescent rolls recipes out there and if you have one I would love for you to share. I bet these would be a great snack you could make ahead and freeze.

Just want to say thanks to 3 Boys and a Dog for sharing her pizza pinwheel recipe!
